Breaking news – the first RE-ACT Schools co-design workshop goes to Aksakovo!

17/09/2025

Varna Economic Development Agency (www.veda-bg.eu) in partnership with the Municipality of Aksakovo (https://aksakovo.bg/lang_en-GB_home.html) will host a Co-Design Workshop on 18 September 2025 as part of the RE-ACT Schools Project (WP2 – Pilot Implementation).

The workshop seeks to raise awareness of the project among local stakeholders and to apply its collaborative approach in planning and implementing Nature-Based Solutions in the Aksakovo pilot site — St. Kliment Ohridski High School. The event emphasizes active citizen engagement, fostering commitment, and involving young generations in co-design practices.

The agenda includes:

  • Welcome sessions for participants — teachers, senior students from the pilot school, municipal representatives, and local stakeholders interested in climate change mitigation and improving the educational and community environment.
  • Presentations on the RE-ACT Schools project and the design phase of the pilot site, followed by interactive discussions to gather feedback from students and other participants on their ideas and vision for site improvements.
  • A focus on the climate audit and the installation of sensors, which will also be discussed with attendees. The students will be invited to  share the way they feel in their schoolyard, filling in an online questionnaire in Bulgarian.
