💡Under the coordination of the Province of Lucca and the facilitation of the Department of Architecture of the University of Florence, students had the chance to assess existing space and envision their school courtyard as climate resilient and active space.
📍The workshop was organised by the Province of Lucca and the Department of Architecture of the University of Florence within the framework of the RE-ACT School Project – ” Transformation of Schoolyards to Combat Climate Change Effects and Promote Healthy and Active Environments “. The Province of Lucca, as partner of the project, will promote renovation work of a pilot area of IIS Galilei courtyards, on the basis of the outcomes of the co-design workshop, aimed at being a participatory lab for school courtyards users. Project design will take into consideration the inputs co-designed by Galilei’s students and will integrate nature-based solutions to mitigate the effect of climate, swaying between severe rainfalls over winter and summer heatwaves. 🌍💚
